“Drink lots of water every day to lose weight”. This saying is one that has been in circulation for quite a while and has people wondering over its authenticity. So how true is this claim?

Water is essential for the proper working of the human body. Only a body that is well hydrated will able to function efficiently. Water enables the body organs and glands to work quickly and properly. Another reason is that chemical processes within the body cause energy metabolism. The amount of water a person drinks boosts his metabolic rate and makes him more energetic. Higher metabolic rates lead to weight loss. Water fasting weight loss works by these simple principles.

Water fasting can be followed anywhere from one to forty days. An optimum way is to follow the fast one day in every week. During the fast, a person is not to eat any solid food.  This schedule can be followed for a period of 10 to 15 weeks.
